Meet Dr Jo Fraser — Building Everwell Dental from Day One

Every practice has a story behind it. Everwell Dental in Southam is a brand-new practice, but the dentist at its heart is anything but new to the profession. Dr Jo Fraser brings close to two decades of clinical experience, an established track record at a respected Northampton practice, and deep roots in the Warwickshire community she is now serving.

This is her story.

Who Is Dr Jo Fraser?

Dr Fraser — who for many years practised under her maiden name, Jo Stock — is a principal dentist with nearly 18 years of experience in private dental practice. She trained in dentistry, spent time building her clinical skills across different settings, and joined East Park Dental in Northampton, where she has been for the last 18 years, becoming a partner in 2011.

Her interest in dentistry started young. “I wanted to be a dentist since I was 12 years old. My dad’s a dentist, and I obviously looked at him and really admired him. He was a dentist in Leamington — if anybody remembers Dudley Stock, he has retired now — but he always loved it. He always had a passion for dentistry. He never stopped enjoying it till the day he retired, and I think he’s just been an excellent role model.”

For anyone in the Leamington or wider Warwickshire area who remembers Dudley Stock’s practice, that family connection to local dentistry now extends into the next generation.

Why Open in Southam?

“Southam has always been part of my life,” says Dr Fraser. “I have family in the area, so I’ve always grown up in and around Southam and the surrounding villages. It very much is home.”

She has watched the town grow over the years, and saw both the opportunity and the need for a quality private practice in the area. “I know how the town is developing, and I know there’s space for that extra dental practice. I’m really looking forward to getting there and being able to look after the people of Southam and the surrounding villages.”

On a practical level, Dr Fraser also lives locally — in Long Itchington, just 3.5 miles from the practice. After an 18-year commute to Northampton, the seven-minute journey to Everwell is something she mentions with undisguised delight.

East Park Dental and What That Heritage Means for Everwell

Everwell is a new practice, but it shares its foundations with East Park Dental, which Dr Fraser co-owns with her business partner Chris Young. Chris will remain primarily based in Northampton while Dr Fraser is based in Southam, though both are committed to both practices.

“East Park Dental is a lovely practice, and I’m super proud of it. We’ve got an amazing team, amazing patients who I’ve been seeing — some of them for 16, 17 years. It’s just a lovely place to come.”

One of the most telling indicators of a practice’s culture is its reviews. Dr Fraser points to something specific: “When you look at the reviews for East Park Dental, nearly every review will mention the team. They won’t just say, my dentist was really nice. They’ll talk about the whole experience. That sense of team is what gives people the experience that they deserve when they come to the practice.”

That is exactly the culture she is building at Everwell.

What Dr Fraser Believes About Good Dentistry

Ask Dr Fraser what gets her out of bed in the morning after nearly 20 years in the profession, and the answer is consistently about people rather than procedures.

“I still don’t know what else I would do if I wasn’t a dentist. I enjoy it, but the biggest thing I enjoy is just getting to know my patients, building a rapport, seeing who’s on the list on the day. I really enjoy the practical side, I like the dentistry, I like doing really good quality work, and I like seeing it last.”

Her clinical interests span Invisalign and clear aligner orthodontics, composite bonding, and restorative dentistry. She has developed a particular appreciation for the cosmetic treatments that genuinely transform how patients feel about themselves: “The ones that stick with me the most are the Invisalign and the whitening and the bonding, because they make such a difference. So often I’m seeing adult patients who have been unhappy with their smile for such a long time, so when we get to the end and they’re beaming at themselves, it’s just so satisfying.”

A Note on the Name Change

Patients who knew Dr Fraser as Jo Stock, or who have encountered her work under that name, should know that it is still the same person. Having always worked under her maiden name — partly because of the continuity it created alongside her father’s Leamington practice — she has now decided to use her married name, Fraser, as she opens a practice in Southam.

“Most people in the area know me as Fraser these days. But it is still me, so don’t worry if there’s any confusion.”

What to Expect at Everwell

Everwell Dental is a purpose-built private practice in Southam, Warwickshire, designed to be a relaxing and welcoming environment. The practice is on one level, with parking directly outside, and is conveniently situated next to St Wulfstan’s surgery.

Dr Fraser’s vision for Everwell is built on long-term relationships. “For me, I am all about building long-term relationships with my patients. Most of my patients now I’ve been seeing for a really long time. I want people to feel that when they come into the practice, they are here for us to look after them and become part of Everwell for the long term.”
