Helping children feel comfortable, confident, and at home at the dentist from the very first visit.
The habits and feelings formed in childhood shape a person’s relationship with dental care for life. At Everwell Dental, we work hard to make every child’s visit a positive, reassuring experience, one that builds confidence rather than anxiety.
Our team is experienced in treating young patients and knows how to communicate with children in a way that puts them at ease. We use simple, friendly language, take things at the child’s pace, and celebrate every small step.

We recommend bringing your child for their first visit as soon as their first tooth appears, or around their first birthday. Even if there’s nothing to treat, early visits help children become familiar with the practice environment and the people in it, making future appointments much easier.
We’re always happy to talk through home care routines with parents. If you have questions about brushing technique, toothpaste, diet, or anything else related to your child’s oral health, just ask.
First visits for very young children are usually just a gentle introduction. We may count teeth and do a quick look, but the main aim is to build familiarity and trust.
Most children begin losing their milk teeth around age five to seven, starting with the lower front teeth. We’ll monitor this process at each check-up and let you know if anything needs attention.
Yes. Everwell Dental welcomes patients of different ages. The practice has a hygienist, Coraline, who has a particular interest in and affinity for treating younger patients. Coraline takes time to make children feel comfortable and builds positive associations with dental care from an early age.
Yes. The practice is on one level with no stairs, and there is parking directly outside. Southam has minimal traffic, making it straightforward to reach from the surrounding villages including Long Itchington, Bishops Itchington, and Napton. There is also no difficult town centre navigation to contend with.
For most adults and children, a check-up every six months is the standard recommendation, though your dentist may advise a different frequency based on individual risk factors. Regular hygiene appointments are also important for maintaining gum health alongside general dental care.
Nervous young patients are very welcome at Everwell Dental. The team’s approach is unhurried and patient-focused. Let the practice know ahead of the appointment that your child is anxious and the team will take extra time to make the visit as relaxed and positive as possible.
