One of the simplest ways to refresh your appearance, done safely and effectively under professional supervision.

Professional whitening that works

Teeth naturally darken over time through a combination of ageing, diet, and lifestyle factors. Professional whitening is a safe, proven way to lift the shade of your teeth and restore a brighter, healthier-looking appearance.

At Everwell Dental, we use Enlighten Whitening, a professionally recognised system that consistently delivers excellent results. Unlike over-the-counter products, professional whitening uses clinically formulated gels at concentrations that are only available through dental practices, giving far more reliable and noticeable results.

What’s involved

  • An initial consultation to assess your suitability for whitening
  • Custom whitening trays made from impressions of your teeth
  • A prescribed at-home whitening routine using professional-grade gel
  • A follow-up appointment to review your results and address any questions

What can whitening achieve?

Results vary depending on the natural shade and structure of your teeth, but most patients achieve a significant improvement in brightness. Enlighten Whitening is particularly effective at addressing deep-set staining as well as surface discolouration.

Whitening works on natural tooth enamel. It won’t change the colour of existing crowns, veneers, or composite restorations, so it’s worth discussing your full dental history with your dentist at your consultation.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, when carried out under professional supervision using properly prescribed products. We assess your oral health before starting and monitor your progress throughout. Some patients experience temporary tooth sensitivity during treatment, which usually resolves quickly.

How long do the results last?

Results can last a number of years with good oral hygiene and by limiting intake of staining foods and drinks. Top-up treatments are straightforward and can refresh your results when needed.

Can I whiten my teeth if I have crowns or veneers?

Whitening only affects natural tooth enamel, so existing restorations won’t change colour. Your dentist will discuss how this might affect your overall result at your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is professional teeth whitening safe?

Yes, when carried out by a registered dental professional using regulated products. At Everwell Dental in Southam, whitening is assessed and supervised by Dr Jo Fraser, using clinical-grade products and custom-fitted trays. Over-the-counter alternatives either contain concentrations too low to be effective or, in the case of illegal providers, may be genuinely harmful.

How long does teeth whitening last?

Professional whitening results typically last between one and three years, depending on lifestyle factors such as diet and whether you smoke. Regular consumption of coffee, tea, and red wine will cause gradual re-staining. Top-up treatments using your custom trays at home are a simple way to maintain your result.

Will teeth whitening work on crowns or fillings?

Whitening agents work on natural tooth enamel and have no effect on ceramic crowns, porcelain veneers, or composite fillings. If you have visible restorations in the front of your mouth, your dentist will advise on how to achieve a consistent result, which may involve replacing older restorations to match the whitened shade of your natural teeth.
