Discreet, durable restorations that blend naturally with your teeth.
White fillings, also known as composite or tooth-coloured fillings, are made from a resin material that’s matched to the shade of your natural teeth. They’re an excellent option for treating cavities and small areas of decay, and many patients also choose them to replace older amalgam (silver) fillings for a more uniform appearance.
At Everwell Dental, we use white fillings as standard. They look natural, bond well to the tooth structure, and allow us to preserve more of your natural tooth than older filling materials typically required.

The process is straightforward. We remove any decay or damaged material, clean the area carefully, and apply the composite resin in thin layers, hardening each one with a curing light before shaping and polishing the final result. For most patients, it’s a comfortable appointment with very little downtime.

Modern composite materials are very durable. With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, white fillings typically last many years. Larger fillings may have a slightly shorter lifespan than amalgam, which your dentist will discuss with you.
In many cases yes, though we’d always assess each filling individually before recommending replacement. Unnecessary replacement is not always in the best interest of your tooth.
